15,000 take part in Tel Aviv Gay Pride Parade
Last Friday, some 15,000 people turned out for Tel Aviv’s gay pride parade. The parade, the largest pride event in Israel, was not without its protesters. Several dozen right-wing activists greeted the marchers with derogatory chants and called for the parade’s cancellation. Additionally, last Wednesday, the first of two bills that would prevent gay pride parades from taking place in Jerusalem, or anywhere else in the country, was read in the Knesset.
